Prof. Walter Popp, Head of Hospital Hygiene Unit, University Clinics Essen, Germany and Project director, MeshHp, Mr. Jorg Spors, senior hygienist, Essen Fire brigade and Mr. Michael Rossburg visited Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 28 September to 4 October, 2012. They visited all project pilot units, Songino-Khairkhan district hospital, National Cancer center, Shastin hospital, NCCD and Monos lab.
During the visit Prof. Walter Popp and Mr. Michael Rossburg delivered presentations at the 34 th Annual Scientific Conference of the Second Central Hospital. Moreover, three hours training was conducted by Michael Rossburg at National Central Hospital and Prof. Walter Popp conducted trainings for the Emergency Management Center and also, he gave a presentation on “Indicators of hygiene” to students of Health Sciences University of Mongolia.
Mr. Jorg Spors conducted succeffully five day training at the Emergency Management Center for some doctors and drivers. The participants and doctors of MeshHp expressed their appreciation for Mr.Jorg Spors to conducting very stable, efficient, and interesting paramedic training.
German delegation had short meeting with Dr.Udval, Health Minister and Dr.Amarsanaa, Vice Minister, Ministry of Health, Mongolia. Also there was a meeting with Dr. Tuul from the UB Health Department.
At the end of visiting day, a wrap up meeting was held in the Second Central Hospital with all MeshHp project members attending. Prof Walter Popp, Mr. Michael Rossburg and Mr. Jorg Spors presented their trip findings and issues which have to be implemented at the project pilot hospitals in the next steps. Additionally, MeshHp doctors expressed their views and concerns about conducting more training for the project pilot hospitals.
