First National Forum on “Infection Prevention and Control“ was held

Ministry of Health, National Center of Communicable Diseases, Global fund and “Mongolian emergency service and hospital Hygiene project “(MeshHp) successfully organized the First National Forum on “Infection Prevention and Control“ on 19-20 June 2013 at Conference Hall of Ministry of Health.

Over 170 doctors, hygienists, epidemiologists and representatives from Ministry of Health, Germany, Essen University Clinic, Essen Fire Brigade, German Healthcare Export Group, MMM Group, ADB, Global Fund, Ministry of Health, Mongolia, National Central Hospital, Second Central Hospital, Emergency Medical Service -103, Chingeltei district hospital, private hospitals and 21 aimags hospitals.



The opening speech was delivered by Mr. Amarsanaa, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Health, Mongolia, and greetings were delivered by Mrs Ulrike Flach, State Secretary, The Federal Ministry of Health, Germany, Dr. So Nuyant, Representative, WHO, Mongolia, Dr. A.Oyunbileg, Global Fund, project manager and R.Schoellhammer, ADB Country Director

Prof. Dr. Walter Popp was awarded the Medal of Honor of Ministry of Health, Mongolia and Mr. Jorg Spors was Medal of Best worker of Health Authority of Capital city because of their outstanding contributions to implementing of MeshH project.

Mongolian health professionals and doctors including Dr. Khatanbaatar, State Secretary, Ministry of Health were delivered the presentations on Infection prevention and control system and management, structure and roles of health organizations and other very important topic on IPC.



Moreover ,German doctors and professionals including Prof. Walter Popp, Head of Hospital Hygiene Department of Essen University Clinic, Dr. M.Rosburg , MVZ Dortmund – Dr. Eberhard u. Partner, Dr. Birgit Ross, doctor, Hospital Hygiene Department of Essen University Clinic, Mr. Jorg Spors, Senior hygienist, Essen Fire brigade delivered the presentations on Disinfectants – situation in Mongolia and German regulations, Prevention of hospital acquired infections role of a central laboratory, Antibiotic usage in hospital acquired infections in hospitals, Infection control management in emergency services, Hygiene risk management in neonatal ward and shared their views and recommendations.



Last year, “Mongolian Emergency Service and Hospital Hygiene Project” (MeshHp) successfully organized the first symposium on “Hospital Hygiene in Mongolia – a look from outside on basic problems“ on 11 May 2012 at Conference Hall of Ministry of Health.
